I work at a homeless shelter and transitional housing unit in Saskatoon, SK. The Lighthouse also operates a few homes in the community for higher independent living, but they can still access our services. This is Mary’s story, which has inspired us and the wider community to try to open a place for women working in the sex trade to warm up, have some soup & coffee, a nap, and to find a listening ear and supports. We have sent our idea to Aviva Community Fund to gain a start-up fund of $150,000 to help purchase a space.
